Framers outlined one representative in Congress for every 50,000 Americans... we are very far from the institution they laid out.

They also hadn't come up with multi representative districts, which would have done a lot towards preventing two party rule that they didn't want.

We don’t spend enough time discussing the fact that the articles of confederation didn’t really allow for the amendment process the framers undertook but the elites basically agreed to it anyway because the existing system was so clearly and irrevocably broken.

I remember asking this in high school civics and getting a blank stare. The Constitution essentially set a precedent for ignoring or stretching its own amendment processes (which Lincoln arguably made good use of).
