This is Trump's shortlist for the Supreme Court. It includes William Pryor, who's called Roe the "worst abomination in the history of constitutional law."https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/president-donald-j-trumps-supreme-court-list/ …

WTF? None of your 3000 words: climate, pollution, ... oh, you have environment: "the political environment appears to be a significant factor as well." These are critical issues (LIFE & DEATH) that new
#SCOTUS will impact. -
life of unborn boys and girls, for sure.
-
"For sure [the] life of []born boys and girls". 1.
#Climate impacts are already real -- including life threatening impacts (look at#PR post#Maria) 2. Impacts worsening 3. Someone born in 2000 life expectancy is past 2070 -- unchecked#climatechange catastrophic before then. -
#Climate change impacts are not a 'my grandkids' issue but one hitting us today ... and massive impacts to come.

I wonder if he's retiring now because he wants a wild swing to the right on the SC. He wants to retire while he feels chances are best for that.
-
Maybe you're not that familiar with Kennedy's legacy, but the man is not that far to the right. He's been to most liberal of the conservative Justices on the court for decades. He's retiring because he's 82 years old.
-
He's retiring now because he's a Republican. He saw what happened with Garland. He was an octogenarian then, too. You don't have to pretend that the SC is some impartial body anymore. The cat is out of the bag and he's already knocked all the shit off the counter.
-
I think he waited because hes a Republican and didn't want to give Obama the seat, but I also don't think he would really want Trump to be the person picking if he had it his way. The person I was replying to said he wanted to swing the Court further right, which I think is wrong
-
It's clearly correct as that's exactly what he's doing. This is him having it his way. Trump is president now and he's retiring now. I really don't understand your angle here. Of all the things these people have lost, the benefit of the doubt should be at the top of the list.
-
I think Kennedy would have rather waited for a president more in line with mid 2000's Republicanism, a Mitt Romney type, not a far right nationalist. I think he would prefer that the Court not swing at all, that his replacement be similarly center right.
-
“My dear president” This is why we lose
-
??? I'm not sure what you're referring to but i can assure I'm no fan of the President, I am a fan of Justice Kennedy. I think he's a great legal mind and his decision on Obergefell was one of the best opinions I've ever read (I used to be pre-law so I've read a lot of opinions.

So, in Dylan Mathews world, unwanted babies are evil and deserve the death penalty, but murders and monsters need our sympathy and support to make their lives longer and easier.
