If the person who got the most votes became president, Trump would never have become president. Most Americans didn't want this. They saw that this was a bad idea, and they were overruled by a bad institution. The result has been a calamity.

If I had to pick between a lottery chance of having a treatable allergic reaction to an amazingly >95% effective vaccine or contracting an unrecognizable virus that hijacks genetic production inside my body and kills millions in miserable ICU deaths, I’d get the shot. thanks

I understand that impeachment at this stage risks establishing a precedent. Are we to impeach *every* president who foments armed insurrection in attempt to overturn an election?

Imagine being willing to throw democracy under the bus... just to stay in the minority, with no governing agenda, under the leadership of a man with no particular interest in whether you live or die

The more we learn, the less this looks like a coup bound to fail, and the more it looks like plain luck that all of our legislators and our vice-president were not murdered.

Let's make it permanent by ending Citizens United, abolishing super PACs, getting big money out of politics, and moving to the public funding of elections.

Strongly agree with this. And I'd add: That you may need to make difficult tradeoffs working with imperfect information. If you wait till perfect information, that is itself a tradeoff, and often the wrong one.

We've reached the stage of this where a Republican congressman is pleading on live TV with Trump to call off his coup.

Anarchism is a left-wing ideology that has a well documented intellectual history. These are not anarchists. This is a mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol at the president’s direction hoping to overturn a free and fair election. That’s the definition of an attempted coup.

If you don't impeach and remove a President for staging a coup, what's the point of impeachment.
