@durov Can you describe the origin?
IP addresses coming mostly from China. Historically, all state actor-sized DDoS (200-400 Gb/s of junk) we experienced coincided in time with protests in Hong Kong (coordinated on @telegram). This case was not an exception.

Do you have any other metrics? Anything to classify the common origins? Are they coming from tons of different IP's a la Great Cannon, or a couple of high thorughput IPs?

But afaik Telegram also lets you set a login password, so even if someone gets control over your phone number the Telegram account could not be opened, right? Secret chats and auto destruction can also help here.

Change your password asap. This implies possibility they may have your password, even though it doesnt work if your 2FA is being delivered purely by means other than SMS.
