Hi Duncan. Thanks for sharing the video. I am a reporter with NBC News in London. Can we please speak with you about what you saw on the phone? Thank you! You can reply here or email me at yuliya.talmazan@nbcuni.com.
-
Thanks for asking, I’m on holiday so I won’t be taking calls. Thanks though.
-
No worries! Thank you. And is it okay if we could use your video for all NBCU partners/platforms?
-
Yes, with a credit
-
Thank you. And just to confirm — you shot the video yourself inside your apartment in Venice?
-
Yes, it’s my video, shot from a holiday apartment.
-
Thanks for confirming!

Wow! I was looking at my Maritime app at the time and wondered why the ship was in a strange position-there is a video on YouTube from the other side. Looks as though the river cruiser must have bee damaged as well. Not a good week for ships. Anyway hope you've had a good break
-
Lovely break thanks. Video shared with a Swedish TV outlet and now with the BBC too! Might get a mention!!

Clip 3:20-3:45 Venice Passenger Terminal Managing Director: "The chances of a cruise ship, even the biggest ones, ramming into Venice is ZERO!". Famous last words... https://youtu.be/n7-rSbUWOvA pic.twitter.com/5LCSOsgFhp
-
Interesting! Echoes of the Titanic Whitestar line.
-
Or the Three Mile Island nuclear accident, Harrisburg: The accident probability is so low it will probably NEVER happen! *Happens* Now that it happened the probability went up to 100% of course but what happened is still so unprobable that it will never happen again. Probably.
-
Yes, would love to see how they model the zero probability. Video shows that locals in Venice have been worried for some time.
-
I can corroborate with their concern when I see these images. Imagine seeing those behemoths approaching your ancient city built on rotting wood...pic.twitter.com/mm9NC9B5vK
-
Yes, doesn’t look like zero probability at all.
