    Osbert Sitwell published the first vol. of his autobiog. in 1945, same year as 'Brideshead'. Evelyn knew Sitwell couldn't write but loved visiting Renishaw for the bitchy gossip. I've reproduced the book's best page. Stewie Griffin, anyone? If only.
