#WarcraftQA Totem Mastery feels too similar to Searing Totem, which was removed for being not impactful and uninteresting. Are there any plans to change it from being set-and-forget?

Piggybacking, if plans exist, will those plans still preserve the totemy-ness of shamanism? I hated losing the totems entirely, but I agree the playstyle now isn't ideal.

The issue with TM, imo, is that it's "preserving the totemy-ness" just for the sake of it. The buffs could exist without a totem (Not that that would make it less boring as a talent). If we don't get meaningful/impactful totems, I'd rather not have them at all.

I absolutely agree. But I'm also a huge fan of totems (however they are implemented) as part of the class fantasy. I wonder if there are other ways to integrate them that both preserve that and are fun to play?

In part it seems like the issue is how to keep the shaman theme, but whilst also clearly differentiating between ele and enh. If we both have totems, we both have multiple elements then the only difference comes down to "Do I throw them, or put them on my hammer"

Ele and enh seem to constantly be battling to answer "who they are." The constant swapping between who is primarily fire and who is primarily lightning drives me bonkers (example: artifact weapons v. class mount)

I did write a bit about the whole spec identity thing recentlyhttps://binkenstein.wordpress.com/2017/12/12/binkensteins-elemental-8-0-redesign/ …

I read it! I enjoy and appreciate your work and perspectives on elemental. :)
