Sorry, another Bravely thought! The transition to Switch has largely solved my issues with BD1 and BS dungeons, which were glorified mazes full of random encounters. Boring. BD2 gets rid of random encounters and because of the bigger space, can make the dungeons nice to look at.
BD2 has no random encounters and everything is on-contact, and there are items to help you avoid or attract enemies, so this is still a thing you can do!

That's true. I guess I just preferred having like a dial that went from 0-200%. No items needed. The game just let you choose and it made grinding really snappy. I'm enjoying BD2 so far though I am waiting for the story to get a bit more interesting.
