another actual problem I am developing with Yakuza 7 is how it treats Eri. I get that she's an optional party member, but the game really does her a disservice as a character in a lot of ways by basically sidelining her from the entire story

you can get her so early on and it's SO low effort to do so that I feel it's p likely most players will have her for most of the game. yet she just vanishes outside of combat and the business sim, it's like she's not there at all. no convos. no bond events. no plot. nothing.

I think this would've been less obnoxious if 1) she wasn't one of only two playable women here, in a series that has had almost no playable women up to this point, 2) there were other optional characters given the same treatment and 3) she was harder to get/joined later

I know games are hard to make but I would've loved to see a few actual bond events with her, and even just a few throwaway lines of dialogue in major plot events that could be cut if you didn't have her with you. her model isn't even in the scenes as it is. it sucks.

anyway Eri rules, she can do a fuckin backflip in high heels and runs a massively successful corporation staffed by roombas, chickens, and assorted clowns, she and Saeko are incredibly powerful and I love them

i felt the exact same way. she’s been in the party just as long as some of the characters in my game and it’s a bummer she doesn’t get much respect.

oh ENORMOUS same, it's so good, and she's fast too so she can usually get it in at the start of the fight before everyone spreads out
