the final battle is a clusterfuck of plot conclusions and characters that for a blissful second feels cool as shit before it turns into anti-climactic chaos. just, very weird final third of that game.

I love the idea of Arx as a quest web where each one feeds into the next, but it's executive in such a way where it's easy to skip really important things because you just happened to do one quest before another, or rehash info you've known for hours if you go out of order

I've thought more about Divinity 2 and I'm still bummed out about its cynical worldview. The world is terrible throughout the entire game, everyone is evil or corrupted or a victim of horrible things, and if you try to make that better, it devolves into war and chaos anyway.

I guess if that's the game, that's the game, but it was just a big downer at a time when everything in the world seems overwhelming already.

Anyway I like the game A LOT, there is so much good, the characters are cool and the writing is mostly sharp and the systems are fun as shit and some of the battles are really interesting and the MUSIC gosh!!!! But the final third just, blah, did not work for me on so many levels
