it usually takes me a month or two to work through all the interviews I get at shows like PAX or GDC or whatnot. that's cuz about 3/4 of the stuff I do at shows isn't time-sensitive, it's all usually 1200+ words/30 min interviews, and I run about 2 per week.
it's a great set-up that (at least in my experience) usually lets our team have (I think) some decent work-life balance during shows where we're not frantically trying to turn around ten huge pieces, and most of the time spreads the load out better amongst the staff

but because of the sudden wild twists of GDC pivoting to digital events and talks and COVID-19, a lot of my East stuff got pushed and pushed and pushed back. as a result, I'm just now finishing writing up my very, very last interview from PAX East for later this week.

it's still relevant and interesting and I'm so excited to publish it! but it also feels like a time capsule to listen to because of how happy and optimistic it all was. I don't think GDC had even been canceled yet when this was recorded.

anyway I don't know why I wrote this except, it's a nice piece and I'll share it when it goes up, and thank you so so so much to everyone i spoke to at East for your patience as these haphazardly got published. it doesn't normally take this long. we are living in some Times.
