I often think about how games nearing the finish line get pushed back (like this) and how long they’ve already been in crunch... and then that crunch extends for many more months. The sheer pain of having the finish line moved from you as you’re about to cross seems horrific

As a dev, I've experienced crunch (not anything extreme like game dev crunch tho) and when you work like crazy towards a deadline and then it gets delayed, that relief you were hoping for gets kicked further down the line and it's frustrating

You got a small number of people engaged with the fact that there is a problem but then most of that already small group gets shaved off when they find an easy out

In this case "I acknowledge that crunch is a problem" but oh but the game is delayed I guess two plus two equals fish and now it's all good

So would it have been to accept the game in April and just wait for regular updates or allow these people to break themselves in pursuit of their consumers? Like I’m not throwing shade it’s really a genuine QQs.
