I'm exceedingly lucky to write for a site that doesn't require chasing clicks (though I've been there and respect why most places do). If I could write about anything on top of that, I'd play a random cute indie game weekly and write/yell about how it makes me happy for 1k wordshttps://twitter.com/velocciraptor/status/1125800220430934017 …

one of my many favorite parts about the site that I write for is that since I don't have to write criticisms of stuff I play, I can just almost exclusively play stuff I like and praise the parts I love unapologetically.

one day I'd like to practice proper game critique again, but for now, I just want to love the cool things cool devs made and gently set aside anything that doesn't make me happy to play

Haha, it's a B2B publication, so we have a super specific angle. It still results in me writing about stuff I find dull or exasperating sometimes (financial reports! blockchain!) but it's all because we find it important to understanding the industry.

(and the upside is that far, far more of it is really rewarding. I get to talk to the people who make the games I love and have them tell me how they made the cool shit they did. I mean!! Wow?!?!)
