That's great and I'm glad! But this reply seems somewhat patronizing! I read reviews from most major outlets every time I do one of our critical consensus pieces and there are definitely patterns in how our industry reviews - as well as superb outlets who break those patterns.

No, I know the patterns you’re talking about. Back in the ‘90’s almost all game reviews followed that format. It has been a while since I read one of those probably because so many people have abandoned the formula.

But, again, my original reply was about the value of expert reviews, which I thought were being dismissed but you’ve clarified that they weren’t. We agree on this topic, I think, in the ways that matter.
