So, here we are on #LetsGoPikachu / #LetsGoEevee day and once again Nintendo leaves gamers with disabilities wondering if they should get the game.
Motion controls are no longer mandatory for capturing Pokémon. Is that enough?

You are limited to choosing between a Joy Con, the Pokéball Plus, or using handheld mode on your Switch to interact with Pokémon Let's Go. If you try to connect a Pro controller, it won't recognize the device or anything adapted to mimic a Pro controller, like most AT.pic.twitter.com/3e0du2Bj5D

On the Joy-Cons/Pokéball, you have to flick your wrist. In handheld mode on the Switch, you have to aim the screen at the Pokémon or use the joystick. In the early levels, this makes catching easy. Later on, could be potentially problematic.pic.twitter.com/bauyo3oS8V

Good news for one-handed gamers, this game is amazing. You'll be able to play with absolutely no restriction Bad news for those with neuromuscular conditions, paralysis, quadriplegia, or strength challenges, is you have to play in handheld mode, which may or may not work for you

Happy we were able to speak to The Pokémon Company about the challenge, and how all they had to do was add an accessibility option to toss Pokéballs with a tap of a button instead of motion controls I wish there was an easy mode for those who can't move joystick/screen easily.

Hi Rob, Yes I spoke to TPC on behalf of AbleGamers about the issue when it was first identified thanks to a tip from
@austin_walker - However, I can't confirm our intervention directly assured the change, only that we brought it to their attention.1 odpowiedź 0 podanych dalej 0 polubionych -

In handheld mode, you don't have to flick any motion controls to toss a Pokéball Joystick helps aim. 1-button press You can slide the screen around but you don't have to. The ball also magically centers to the target, helping to eliminate potential barriers with physical ability
