This video of Don Lemon and Rick Wilson bothers the hell out of Trump. He hates it when people mock him. So please be sure to share and post this video everywhere!

Don't want to give too much away, but congrats to one of our physics friends whose book is the source of today's Sunday NY Times Acrostic quotation!

It's the gift-giving season! And what better way to please your science-reading loved one than to give - getting to know Enrico Fermi was one of my own great privileges, and you can give that ;pleasure to someone you love this season!

If you're interested in the history of math in general and logic in particular, this book review by Philip Davis of a book about the great Polish logician Alfred Tarski is fascinating.

Now my dad was an experimentalist. I wonder how theorists think about this relationship. There is, in many ways, an overlap between theoretical physics and pure math, but there are important differences as well....4/n

I remember when we got a copy of the Time Life book on mathematics there was a short profile of Samuel Eilenberg, whom my dad knew at Columbia. My father spoke of him with greater reverence than anyone I had ever heard him talk about. 3/n

My dad has enormous respect for mathematicians, and my mom recalls that he considered math a "superior calling" - he would have liked to be a mathematician himself but realized he wasn't "good enough to be world class. 2/n
