Would you replace a fully functional five-year-old gas stove right now? My environmental sense is to wait for a durable good to reach the end of its useful life.

Ask a "what if..." - what if everyone waited, not just you? I haven't had a gas appliance except for a combi boiler for decades; dunno what the fuss is all about. It also seems sensible to have as few things as possible that could potentially explode.

I just bought an entry-level induction stove last week from a scratch and dent shop. Owner said: "Oh so you wanna cook like gas?"
IT'S AMAZING.
As responsive as the gas stove I once had, and energy efficient.
