generally the people making claims have to back them up better than "my friend told me so"

We should hold journalists to this standard

yes and that's what Adam is doing dipshit. Journalists keep printing assholes claiming shoplifting is closing businesses when no one can even prove that. We're just taking someone's word for that. Jfc.

Lol, no that's exactly what he's not doing. All he did was say "other stores closed" and "hey look at this wage theft case".

again you didn't read the article. the corporation isn't claiming it was shoplifting. and none of these other closed stores are claiming it was shoplifting. theres literally no evidence that these stores closed because of shoplifting which is very apparent in the article.

They literally said they are. They made a presentation to city council and California passed an organized retail crime bill as a result.

ok post where they said it was shoplifting. and then tell me why should I take their word for it. Why should I trust the company to not lie? Where's the shoplifting numbers?

Why don't you trust them? Who else would know?

because corporations have reasons to lie. I have no reason to take them at their word, especially when if they wanted me to believe them they could release numbers. But its not even corporations its just random local store managers. They don't know shit.

What reasons?

nah nah nah don't change the goal posts 1) find me where and when and who is saying "we closed due to shoplifting" 2) give me a reason to believe that person. And it can't just be because they said it.
