Jesus Christ, enough is enough. Stop enabling these idiots by apologizing for everything. I'm offended that they're offended!!! We're all doomed. I hate this generation

You missed an excellent opportunity to educate, instead issued a very sad letter. The founding fathers laid groundwork for the abolition of slavery in the West. One year later, in 1777, Vermont became the first sovereign state to abolish slavery. #History #FactsMatter

Students claiming to be hurt by an "insensitive" sentiment? Take back their diplomas - maybe return yours too for caving - & educate them about the marvel of independence that was brought about in 1776 & what it means to most normal Americans. Clearly, you've been doing it wrong.

Why are you apologizing, Dr. Perry? Should we stop celebrating Fourth of July because our independence came that year?

Dr. Perry, An American should NEVER apologize for the founding of this Great Nation! America’s history is scarred with actions that were not kind to all people; however, it still remains to be the greatest nation on earth! No one from that era walks among us today; therefore,

My lord are you SPINELESS, 1776 seriously, now you can't make reference to they year the Declaration of Independence was sign/celebrated. Please resign, all your teaching is how to be a whining cry baby offended by everything.

School administrators are usually spineless. They listen to the whiny kids first before they listen to the teachers. They try to be the “buddies” of the students and have stripped the tools from the teachers to maintain discipline rather than backing them up.
