I felt this always and have consistently gotten a "sometimes you just have to go with it and follow the algebra" when asking (very smart) folks with more expertise than me.

And taking formal classes, it's much harder to find the time to tweeze out this kind of intuition than it was before (for diff reasons). Would be cool if there were some way to automatically generate these sorts of intuitive visual justifications

Math degrees at the best universities of Europe and America are qualitatively different than anywhere else. Otherwise, better to go with physics for undergrad, and just locate the right math books to read over the summer.
