Interesting to think about what Twitter would be if people mostly tried to identify the best pieces in other people's tweets, and riffed on them, rather than critiquing the bits they don't like.

a related thought i've been playing with, inspired by something i picked up at CFAR, is that debate is for *allies*; the most important reason to hash out an actual disagreement with somebody is if you need to make plans together involving shared resources

Yes I think I like this. Lots of twitter 'debate' is just 'someone's wrong on the internet'. You're not building anything together, may as well ignore and move on. But I do feel like I'm missing a good outlet for critique (with actual allies where there's a point to it)
