... the main thing I miss from that third 'beauty' strand is more like an extreme particularism. Vividly specific individual experiences are also really resistant to being coopted into power narratives, or aggregated into data...

I think a big part of the shift can be summarized as the shift from criticism to critique, which instead of engaging with aesthetics and experience sought to uncover hidden agendas and structures of power
