Are there other regional euphemisms for "lots of precipitation", besides "getting hammered"??
In the UK the Met Office recently researched this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-42901959 … I'd say 'tipping it down', 'chucking it down' or 'pissing it down'. Also, here 'getting hammered' means 'getting drunk', but pretty much everything in British English means this :)

Ahaha excellent. Yeah in American English "getting hammered" is both booze AND sex related... Which is part of why I'm so curious... I think it's interesting that it's precipitation neutral. Snowstorm? They really got hammered. Hurricane? They're really getting hammered!
