I have now finished reading "Shop Class as Soul Craft" and I think I would recommend it to anyone who is unlikely to be sympathetic to its position and steer clear anyone who is likely to be sympathetic.
I read his The World Beyond Your Head earlier this year and found it the same mix of insightful and intensely frustrating

Interesting. People recommended The World Beyond Your Head to me as a bit less so than Shop Class as Soul Craft, so that's good calibration thanks! (I don't personally feel the need to read more of him, but I was wondering whether to recommend that in preference)

(Hm, apparently Twitter decided to drop my second tweet). I didn't exactly find the book frustrating - I think I decided to treat it as a view into a person rather than a source of knowledge. I didn't like that person, but I could still find learning about them interesting.
