Hard, because there are somewhere between 15 and 1000 flavors of feminism, which do not all agree on fundamentals or prescriptions, but only really share... branding, I guess. So any accessible text is either controversial (because groups disagree on fundamentals) or vacuous.

I think there's a lot of overlap even between the ones that contradict eachother, but yeah that's true. I suppose I'm particularly interested in intersectional queer (and especialyl trans-inclusionary) friendly feminism, but I'll accept all comers if it teaches something useful.

For example I think bell hooks is reliably pretty good in this space. I've not yet read enough of her work (currently only "All About Love", and "Feminism is for Everyone". I've got "The Will to Change" sitting on my shelves but not got around to it yet)

The first thing I read that really made me think about the subject was this piece by Douglas Hofstadter. I guess it's a bit typical that it should be by a man, but Hofstadter was basically my idol. I really should get around to reading that. It's been on my shelves for a while but I keep prioritising other books ahead of it.
