Should we also be calling for community responses to the Medical Board of Australia’s current consultation on complementary and unconventional medicine and emerging treatments https://www.medicalboard.gov.au/documents/default.aspx?record=WD19%2f27929&dbid=AP&chksum=4BA8Vsiz0Pdd6%2fHOcv9NdQ%3d%3d …

There is a lot of concern about the medical board’s move on “complementary and unconventional medicine and emerging treatments” which has the potential to stifle innovation and eliminate individualised #medicine. #auspol #wentworthvotes

I went to chiropractor for neck problems for 20 years. Last time dr told me next step was steroid injections. I declined. Went to Chinese medicine dr. 3 visits and have never been back. I got almost nothing from health fund. Western medicine cost heaps over the years.

Completely agree - it’s just clear that this action is outdated. Mountains of evidence of preventative benefits of #yoga, #pilates, #Naturopathy

Respectfully disagree on this one. We must not give quackery an air of credibility.

The conclusions were made on old evidence no more recent than 2014. Eg NHS guidelines on low back pain say #yoga and #TaiChi chi are first line therapies. This legislation is out of stephttps://www.bmj.com/content/356/bmj.i6748 …

Absolutely agree on this. I love #TaiChi and other similar therapies. Have been doing it for well over 10 yrs now and I attribute my inner health and feeling of wellness to this.
