Anaesthetist here. I opted out months ago. Another expensive health IT system with a poor user interface, poorly integrated with other systems, which transfers the burden of work to front liners, putting them at medicolegal risk while telling them it will streamline their work.

Junior doctor here who opted out! I had a patient tell me they had a
#MyHealthRecord so they didn’t have to remember their medications, which is great in theory but none of the doctors had a login to access it
so much for #MyHealthRecord being useful in emergencies - 2 more replies

It’s so much more than privacy issues. Think about possible lists Governments can create so they can give contracts to mates to do any number of unethical money for nothing bs businesses.

My files show more misdiagnoses than correct ones; that alone is a danger. My family opted out last year.

My wife and I are both Doctors. We have opted out. I know no colleagues who haven’t opted out. I have not and will not register my practice until the multiple issues are sorted out.

Are surgeons the best judge of the utility of a shared medical record? Plenty of other health professionals who access (or need to access) the data far more regularly...
