I wear a mask. Masks are fine. But a howler “study” like this is so blatantly click bait and political that it worsens our science trust problem and demeans an important journal. #covid19 Surely ⁦@JAMA_current⁩ had better choices.https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2772655?guestAccessKey=3eaac929-bff8-4ec7-aca5-d7744a15ede8&utm_source=silverchair&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=article_alert-jama&utm_content=olf&utm_term=103020 …

Not seeing your point here John. Well designed study makes clear masks are safe in a vulnerable population. What’s the problem?

I know people say this about masks. Some say the earth is flat too. We need not prove every folly wrong.

example of a very informative mask study: who knew double folded gaiter necks are as good as procedural masks?https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.10.05.20207241v1 …

Yes, and I’ve met such people myself. This study probably won’t change their minds, but I don’t see the point in deriding it as clickbait.pic.twitter.com/EWH5Ng4fhC

Holy hell! Where have you been. Many thousands do think masks are hazardous. Some of them are actually fellow physicians. I've encountered them. Some of them even spread antimask disinformation.
