Man, can you imagine how smart one must be to be good at both climate physics AND finance? Fuck those people, eh? I'm sure the math overlap is huge, but we both know just being good at proofs isn't a golden ticket in trading.
Generally there aren't people who are truly good at both, you get folks on the modeling side who do research and then traders who manage the execution, at least thats what I've seen in my limited exposure to these types of folks
