Maybe I am just weak in this regard but I find that my mind is significantly sharper/more focused in person, and able to maintain focus for much longer periods

From what I've seen the best remote workers have spent years in the office building up relationships and knowledge. Unless your org is build from the ground up for it, it seems really hard to get new hires up to speed in the same way.
