It didn’t land for me. I loved Adaptation but this was just … weird? And the self-loathing felt a bit misogynistic.
synecdoche new york is one of my favorite movies of all time, this felt like it was aiming for the same existential themes but in a more inner-focused, domestic way... i almost struggle to say in English what I found compelling about it but it definitely provoked a unique anxiety
