ugh this will make me sound like such a law and economics dork i'm sorry but i do wonder if in the next pandemic that requires very fast mass vaccination if people will hold out for incentives (ideally you just do them upfront i guess)

Why use the carrot when you can use the stick. If the state's monopoly on incarceration isn't good for enforcing basic norms of public health then I'm not sure what the point is

We already mandate vaccination for k-12 students, nobody seemed to mind before covid. Why should other public space be any different? I think the right to make one's own health decisions has to be weighed against the public benefit society reaps from people not spreading covid

Yes, super disappointing. I went to college in Oregon and saw firsthand the antivax movement coming from educated people, the same folks who successfully fought water fluoridation
