One of my more crank beliefs is that we never should have had anywhere near this many restaurants to begin with. Not psychologically good for people to interact regularly with someone called their “server”

There has been a pretty steady rise in counter service restaurants for a while now due to cost pressures, if the tipped minimum wage ever goes up (lol) then I have to imagine waited-table dining will be relegated to luxury/fine dining
