It's my belief that when there is an FAQ in the public interest, the answers to those questions are newsworthy, even if the question isn't a science question, it's not an academic journal after all. It's fine if people want advice on what's polite and what's not IMO

"Follow the science" has come to mean "Shut up". It's what happens when no one pushes back on anything the politicians say. Remember that most of them are not experts themselves. Even science is better when people push back on the evidence. That's how we discover new things.
