whys every nvidia rtx card sold out? are there other card options that are good right now? ironically i guess i'm not doing much deep learning anymore so cuda isn't a hard requirement

If you're serious, I would look at used hardware on craigslist/ebay, you're not gonna buy new at MSRP in this market

i mean i'm serious in so far as i need a video card for my desktop that actually supports things like unreal engine and games etc. I used to do a lot more dl stuff but not really anymore

Yeah then I would look to buy used, it's gotten to the point that Newegg is selling their GPUs by lottery now. New cards sealed in the box are selling at an instant premium in the secondary market

Definitely, I wouldn't buy a card used without seeing it run a full cycle of 3Dmark or blender live. Also just ask the seller what the card did in it's prior life
