Almost inevitably the physicalist will appeal to some sort of grounding relation ("the mental is grounded in the physical") but give no account of how or why that relation obtains, or how to reductively articulate the relata in physical terms

Its fun to dunk on cartesian dualism because its so riddled with problems, but basic off-the-shelf physicalism has a lot of very exploitable presuppositions that commit the physicalist to some often deeply weird views
