Of course, this is not to say it should be the #1 priority--it probably shouldn't be! If I could pick a single line-item reform to make healthcare more cost efficient I would outlaw drug marketing in all forms, instant multibillion dollar cost savings
Tbh, a lot of people really do think it should be the top priority and the savings from reducing provider payment levels is on the order of 4-5 times what we would get from outlawing drug marketing (not that we can't do both)
