It's really hard for me to take seriously my alma mater's consistent (and factual) claim that such a high percentage of STEM majors go onto PhDs because 1. is that really the right measure and 2. it's one field where extreme grade deflation has less impact on graduate acceptance

lmao no I totally agree with you and comparator schools as presently done first with institutional features like endowment size, student population, etc but setting those criteria, I think, heavily ends up weighing in Reed's favor
