It's really hard for me to take seriously my alma mater's consistent (and factual) claim that such a high percentage of STEM majors go onto PhDs because 1. is that really the right measure and 2. it's one field where extreme grade deflation has less impact on graduate acceptance

So actually no If I remember right but that isn’t driven by higher incomes for Reed students but much lower overall debate compared to comparator institution (but it’s always an intense debate even at institutional research at Reed about who is a comparator).

I bet if you defined comparator as schools with median SATs 0.5 std devs from the median Reed SAT you would get a much sadder story
