It's just like the more relatable question: Who *wants* a computer or a phone? Most of us want what those things allow us to do. Unless you're in the snake oil business, don't sell or create tech; always focus on jobs to be done and outcomes that help with getting them done.

"Show me what you want, what you really really want." Most companies don't *want* APIs per se, they want the business outcomes they enable. According to @dret, API strategies should take a product management approach with this in mind. nordicapis.com/taking-a-produ

API Marketing! It still seems like for many that's a slightly foreign idea because if you build it they will come, right? Maybe some will. But if you build #API products you want to maximize #ROI, so it makes business sense to be strategic about marketing!

I am soooooo tired of #bananaware? Who else is? My recent green banana cases are revolving around , , and . We all get it: Ship quickly and ask questions later. But what happened to basic testing and making sure you're at least clearing the #MVP hurdle?

I'd love to see regulation that required every company that manages personal data to make an #Atom feed of all updates available. Yes, slightly unrealistic, but imagine the cambrian explosion we'd create if openness was simply a legislated requirement.

Looking forward to this in-person event, and the perfect excuse to finally check out Austin!

The wonders of #API dependencies. is down and is programmed in such a way that they're down now, too. We really lack tooling and awareness to program things in more resilient ways. Always code for failure scenarios!
Thanks for having us, it was a lot of fun!

Last week we got a better understanding of API lifecycle management and why it's so important for evolving a digital strategy. Today on the blog, @DoerrfeldBill covers the key takeaways. feat. @dret and @MNiinioja nordicapis.com/taking-a-produ

It'll be hard to come up with a better response to the recent #AI/#ChatGPT hype...

LLMs are still making sh*t up. That's fine if you use them as writing assistants. Not good as question answerers, search engines, etc. RLHF merely mitigates the most frequent mistakes without actually fixing the problem. twitter.com/deliprao/statu…

I filmed an interview with an #iPhone and a compact camera to edit both into one video. It's almost unbelievable how quickly the videos drift apart, editing is almost impossible. Is that just bad luck or is timing really so highly variable on different devices?

I am suddenly getting copious NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID errors in which I wasn't getting before. One case I am looking at right now is showing as the certificate issuer. Did change something in how they're checking/accepting certificates?

It feels undignified that #Twitterrific is ending like this. They created the first native clients, they were the ones coming up with the blue bird idea, and yet didn't even tell them what they did wrong when they simply cut off #API access.

It seems like is having a bit of an operational issue today? It seems weird to see them responding as if #DNS was broken even though it clearly is just a problem on their side...

Apparently when I update my #macOS client there's no longer the option of having the Dropbox folder where I want it to be? That's rather inconvenient and I am wondering whether that's just a decision or some new #macOS limitation by ?

That moment of terror when you're making changes to your mobile plan and your calling from the phone which you're changing...
The recent flood of terribly wrong but highly confident answers of #ChatGPT should make us consider renaming it to Kellyanne Conway.

This would have been a great opportunity to switch to a standard that supports that feature. If you're looking into doing something similar, please have a look at RFC 7807. "Representing Problem Details in #HTTP APIs: An Introduction to RFC 7807" youtu.be/UNdUjBqsUqg

⚠️ We made it faster for merchants and our support teams to get context on API errors. This helps a great deal for support teams to track down exactly which API request users are referring to. Now, the request_log_url token links to the exact API request log that failed.

Hey , your headphones are great when they work! But when they don't and your online support form just returns an error after submitting all the details, where can we go to file warranty claims? Thanks!

Poorly thought out Twitter API allows anyone to find username from a given email; which can help malicious users dox a target (find their alts) or mass tie usernames to emails based off lists. Make sure you aren’t doing this.

If you sent an API request to Twitter with an e-mail address, and an incorrect password, the API returned a JSON response containing the username associated with the account. A Threat Actor compiled 221,608,279 entries. This list includes celebrities, politicians, and more...

Investing more time away from and over on I find the way @ prompts show up when you type posts rather unstable and error-prone (but also amusing...). Is it just me (or maybe ) or is the prompting of user/company names as broken for you as it is for me?

We're definitely in the age of having enough #API management options available that nobody should be building their own solution anymore. Here's an overview of one segment of the market.

Many API gateways are proprietary and don’t come cheap! Thankfully, several open-source API gateways are available β€”Β here's a review of six of them: nordicapis.com/6-open-source-
