News Flash: Your body can be full of cancer and if there is a video showing you getting shot in the chest and bleeding to death, the cancer didn’t kill you, the hemorrhagic shock did. I don’t care what underlying conditions Mr. Floyd had. He had one cause of death—Derek Chauvin.

I grew up where a few of my classmates had dentures by age 25. They were too poor for the dentist but just over the line for Medicaid, which only covers dental until age 18 anyway. I’m not sure who decided eyes & teeth weren’t important body parts, but it’s an American disgrace.

I’m gonna talk about something that I’m not supposed to talk about. I’m a 37 year old with dentures. I was dirt poor for most of my adult life, and worked jobs that didn’t offer dental care (hospitality/serving). Small problems like cavities became BIG problems.

My 7 yo son didn’t put his glass in the dishwasher last night after dinner and just drank some rotten chocolate milk instead of the fresh cup I poured him tonight. He’s now hand-washing the stinky cup without me asking. Follow me for more parenting tips.

Our schools are for education, NOT indoctrination. We must get kids back to fundamentals of learning & empower parents with the tools to challenge the curriculum when it falls short of expectations. No one knows what is better for a child’s education than their parents.

Yeah, and I’m sure all the landlords are going to reduce rent when their property taxes go down, right? 🙄 Do something that benefits ALL Texans. Invest in education. Mental health. Infrastructure. Mass transit. Not at all surprised to see a plan that only benefits the wealthy.

My husband’s 98 yo WWII veteran grandpa has pneumonia and has been waiting in the ER for a hospital bed upstairs for over 30 hours in a non-VA hospital in a city of over 150,00 people but go ahead and tell me we have the greatest healthcare system in the world.

What you see on TV shows & movies wouldn’t have helped Damar. You need to compress the chest hard & fast. In your head, sing the tune “Stayin’ Alive” and do compressions to the beat. And first delegate someone to call 911 while you work. Brain death occurs in about 7 min w/o CPR.

Three things: 1. She gave me a copy for Christmas. 2. She picked that copy up from the Little Free Library on our walk to the National Museum of African American History & Culture on Monday. 3. She’ll manage to finish hers before I’m done with the first chapter. She’s a machine.

Airlines are supposed to refund travelers within 20 days for a cancelled flight, but they’re rarely penalized for failing to do so. I have a bill that not only gets people their money back sooner, but also fines airlines 10x the original price for not promptly issuing a refund.

As I put my kids to bed tonight, including a first grader, my heart is with the parents who kissed their children for the last time ten years ago tonight when their worst fears came true. Part of me died that day just like it did on September 11. Their stockings were hung…
