A video of a lofting turbidity current. Here the turbidity current is a mix of fresh water and sediment. As it loses sediment it lofts from base. This could happen when a warm sediment laden river flows into cold lake, or a sediment laden outflow from glacier into ocean

For some reason, I haven't been invited to Davos this year. Was it something I said? 🤔

It's been a long transition from postdocs via teacher training to (from the start of 2020) a permanent contract with a Norwegian environmental consultancy firm. I'm going to share what it's like "on the other side". More later...

New year, new pre-print ! d30Si vs d74Ge in extremely weathered tropical CZ - different sensitivities to chem. weathering due to different chem. mobilities. Scarce Si also appears highly (re)cycled by plants. w/ & many others

Sitting at departmental isotope talks, trying to find out a way to sell my interpretations from crystallographic results to these really cool geochemists. Proud to learn about the diversity of the research going on at . btw, is not too bad as a chair.

To anyone at AGU interested in weathering, today my field partner in crime is presenting her brand new data on the impact of glacial lake outburst flood events on mineral weathering in a high arctic watershed so go check it out!!
