Lemme set the record straight real quick, why do I fancast or engage with fancasting? Because unless it’s rammed down people’s throats, ain’t nobody thinking of casting an Indian guy in iconic roles. If I keep pushing, maybe one of us gets through 💕

Also, every time a neurotypical person makes an autism project, they are taking up space. I have had multiple autistic-led projects rejected by various platforms on the basis that they’ve ‘done’ the autism thing. Every time this has been a neurotypical project. 5/

Bc in Romancelandia we will always have these people until it is economic suicide to do anything but go to the damn source for stories that only we can tell. Until it is second nature that we become not only the go-to content creators but the gatekeepers.

So outside of letting him know he is not welcome in these here parts anymore, I want you to go out and buy romances written by people. I want you to go out and review their books. Don't just show your support in tweets. Show it in tangible ways.

I don’t know who needs to hear this (it’s all of you) but on my husband’s ER night shift last night, they filled the last bed in the COVID ICU. Things are about to get a lot uglier.

the narrative that immigrant families do bad things bc bad things happened to them is again dangerous & infantilizing. correlation is not causation. trying to justify their actions speaks volumes abt personal guilt & desire for absolution instead of sitting with an ugly truth

Immediately after the Civil War, Black people voted and got Black people in Congress. That’s one of the things that led to Jim Crow restrictions on voting and decades of segregation and oppression. If disenfranchising an entire race doesn’t register to you as fascist... hm.

As a historian, let me say just two things. First, that my fear is entrenched oligarchy, not autocracy. And second, that my fear is informed by my study of the not-so-long-ago dismantling of democracy right here in the United States, specifically in the post-Reconstruction South.
