    I can only assume Soulver iOS fans never mastered a real calculator.

        @drdrang e.g. RPN

        @chockenberry I tolerate non-RPN users, but I would never let my daughter marry one.

        @drdrang Is a TI-83+ a “real” calculator?

      2. Dr. Drang ‏@drdrang 11 Jan 2013

        @grahamwetzler Yes. TI’s feel cheap to me, but they’re real.

        @drdrang I suppose I COULD use a spreadsheet to achieve the same result but internalizing the arithmetic would probably be the “correct” way

        @bccook Soulver OS X seems like a decent lightweight tool. But on iOS it requires too much switching between keyboards.

        @drdrang That’s a fair criticism. I certainly haven’t written any original sheets on iOS, but it’s been handy to execute known math as I do.

        @drdrang I like PCalc, but Soulver is nice when you need to re-evaluate the same expression.

      @drdrang I only ever need to do simple math. I love that is supports variables and saves sessions.

      @drdrang Guilty! Soulver works great for me to make sure I’m not making dumb math mistakes because otherwise I often did.

      @drdrang True! I bought it b/c “everyone” raved re: it. Hated it. PCalc is most natural for me, but use powerOne for its financial features.

      @drdrang Oh, the temptation to retweet :) But I haven't used it so won't be mean.

      @drdrang I’ve had it for years and never found any use for it.

      @drdrang I use my TI-86 a lot, but it's not always in my pocket. And PCalc can't edit history to change the answer. Thus, iPhone Soulver.

      @drdrang I break out Soulver when I will have to explain myself to someone who won’t understand m48+, or since you converted me, RPN PCalc.

      @drdrang Yep. Clearly non-engineers without any RPN experience.

      @drdrang from experience, if you haven't studied a science at university, you haven't mastered a real calculator

      @drdrang used my trusty HP 48G+ for 8 years and loved it. I’m now a Soulver guy, except when I do trigonometry

      @drdrang My defense is syncing a few sheets from the desktop app that calculate multiple values based on multiple variables. Handy for that.
