Medicine turned into a business - the money is NOT going to physicians. Where is your healthcare $ spent? #SinglePayer is the only solution to this messpic.twitter.com/Sm3fWAemkC

Patients AND healthcare workers before stockholders. My doctors + nurse practitioners have kept me going for almost 40 years despite a significant chronic illness. Most have gone above + beyond for me + I'm forever grateful. They should get the lion's share, not Humana, etc.

Big money is not going to nurses either.

I am shocked by how little the doctor makes considering what he or she does. The money goes to the medical industrial complex, e.g. Partners.

Aren't you advocating in favour of medically unecessary procedures, which would be paid out by either taxes or insurance, and aren't you the daughter of a former CEO of a major insurance firm that provides medical insurance? This sounds like a potential conflict of interest.

Those administrators are the WALL between patients and shareholders. A corp is required to maximize shareholder return. A corp is NOT required to provide medical care. That is capitali$m. Our new god. Plus, Aetna's CEO needs a new private island.

Doesn't quite a bit go to malpractice insurance? You know, because of the fact that people make mistakes(sometimes avoidable), and some people are overly litigious?

Sears thought money ball would work, and the same bean counting mentality is taking over medicine. From an economic perspective it makes sense. But quality of care is apt to diminish into five & dime standards with time. Patients will suffer if we don't make a stand for quality.
