NOPE NOPE NOPE @TeamYouTube just stop it.
I know we shouldn't obsess over numbers but there is a healthy amount of analytics and research we can garner from accurate subscriber counts
Round the API counts too is so excessive.
At least have it as a toggle?https://twitter.com/TeamYouTube/status/1130882313066180610 …

You’ll still be able to access your own on the studio? And I imagine Socialblade will have a somewhat accurate one?

"Third parties that use YouTube’s API Services will also access the same public facing counts you see on YouTube" socialblade will be just as wrong as the channel pages

Yup and that's another reason why it sucks because sure, there are streams that benefit off these "first to x amount" but it can also be that last little push to get yourself over a goal. People see it's 22 away and think "oh go on then, I'm enjoying this person"

Maybe there's a PR company or gaming brand that are looking to work with a creator. Imagine it saying they have 400,000 subs less than they actually do. That'd end up lowballing the whole negotiation process

To see a full 400k drop you need to have over 10M subs to begin with, by the looks of the rounding that is when it starts rounding to the nearest million. If you are in that range; how much does it matter?
