@kyleve @drance @0xced It's absolutely valid and not a hack. Sometimes you need precise lifetime when objects weakly depend on the previous.

@drance @0xced @kyleve don't really see the issue here, TBH. Tracking MOCs alongside NSMOs isn't hard. I do miss autorelease though.

@mattrudel @0xced @kyleve Nothing is hard after you waste a few hours figuring out what went unnecessarily wrong the first time.

@drance @0xced @kyleve I see how this is hard for ARC-era devs to grok. Once you understand ownership, it's obvious why GP's issue exists.
