This is awful. I'm talking about arresting people who commit robbery, assault, vandalism, etc. Not kids who won't disperse. Glad you've never been the victim of a crime; I was: car vandalized, offenders caught, slap on the wrist,, released, no restitution.

with all due respect to your car, i’m more concerned about the pandemic right now. police are not trained to deal with suspects and maintain social distancing in a safe way.

don’t you think that jails shouldn’t be crowded at now of all times? putting aside everything else, if covid spreads through crowded jails in SF, it will spread and my family will be more at risk. do you think our jails are equipped to deal with this?

Needs to be a balance. People are not necessarily going self quarantine out of jail, either.

Not sure what the solution is. Certainly non violent can be released if they have somewhere to go. But for serious crimes, no.

“can be released if they have somewhere to go”? what i’m trying to say is literally anywhere they could go is better than being prison, with regards to coronavirus.
