It's pretty simple actually. Except the first Mario. F-that i couldn't get past the first level. Is it supposed to be extremely hard? Or do i just suck.
Oh, that's the only one that I'm really good at, how weird! 
No not really... I always think super retro games like the first Mario are harder than modern games personally, not sure why, maybe the controls

Yep the controls might be the issue. I used to play the Gameboy version and the controls were literally just the control stick and A + B. Now there's all these wonky controls.

I think design plays a part too. Older games are more difficult in short spurts because the overall length of the game is only a few hours.

I think part of it is also that it’s all guesswork and a few buttons. There’s no tutorial, no L and R trigger for extra movement, and no help if you get stuck. I love them!
