I wonder if this is a side effect of privatized medicine. I don’t know of any institutions in Canada that advertise themselves with click bait to the public. Does it drum up business? Allow them to charge more for name recognition?

I’ve seen a womens hospital foundation here in AB recently posting articles about ‘which cleanses are the best’. Although the actual institution didn’t endorse it, the hospital charity did & their social media handles are virtually indistinguishable. I wrote them words about it.

HARD CO-SIGN! There are better ways to drive web traffic, not to mention it borders on unethical. We should expect the best from each other.

I'd love to learn what those "better ways" are - hearing a lot of (completely understandable and valid) objections against click bait headlines, but not seeing any new ideas. Thanks!

As a patient, I agree. Don’t play that game.
